Together with Herman Miller, Campus Philly has been able to enjoy a newly designed workspace that both companies can be proud of.
Campus Philly is a nonprofit organization working with higher education in order to form connections between college students and the region; and Herman Miller, is a furniture manufacturer that is committed to improving education by creating innovative learning spaces.
The companies have recently formed a partnership that will benefit both groups’ purposes in improving higher education for the foreseeable future.
“Campus Philly’s mission is to retain talent in the region,” said Deborah Diamond, President of Campus Philly. “To us we’re able to do this with the connection with Herman Miller.”
The new workspace serves as Campus Philly’s official headquarters and “…reflects and encourages the creativity, energy and collaboration Campus Philly stands for as an organization.”
Herman Miller’s research on creating advanced academic and work environments assisted in the redesigning of the new workspace that serves Campus Philly’s staff of six and their interns.
The manufacturer provided financial resources as well as furnishings to the Campus Philly, as both companies are working toward the unified goal of offering students and workers an atmosphere of creativity and learning.
“When our local team in Philadelphia learned about Campus Philly, they were excited about its vision,” said Jenelle Kelsch, Herman Miller’s Education Marketing Lead. “They share the same dedication to attracting students to Philadelphia and building a vibrant community where students want to stay after they graduate.”
Herman Miller also brings its wealth of experience in learning space research and design to the newly-formed partnership.
“Campus Philly’s programs connect students to employers and play a key role in students transitioning from their school environments to the workforce, said BeaJo Yerg, Herman Miller’s Philadelphia Regional Manager. “We have a lot to contribute to how people learn and work best in creative, dynamic environments and we brought that knowledge to this partnership.”
Campus Philly have been in their new space, located at 1515 Market Street since Memorial Day, with the staff very much enjoying the change.
“Herman Miller will continue to support Campus Philly through a variety of resources. The vision of this organization is unique and not something we’ve seen in other areas,” Kelsch added.
There’s always something to look forward when Campus Philly is involved. Next for the organization will be Campus Philly College Day on September 29, a full-day welcome to the region’s 300,000 new and returning college graduates.
Campus Philly College Day will return to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, with an anticipation of at least 10,000 new and returning college and graduate students. The event will include more than 40 local and national brands, free music that will feature local and headliner bands, and much more.
“We’re the organization that says welcome to Philadelphia,” Diamonds said.
