Grant: Ensure Community College Transfer Students Receive Credit for Coursework 

The grant is designed to encourage state education systems to implement consistent approaches to awarding associate degrees to these kinds of transfer students. State higher-education executives; state systems of higher education representing two and four-year institutions, four-year institutions, or community colleges; and partnerships of two- and/or four-year institutions with a designated lead public postsecondary institution or nonprofit organization as grant manager.

Community-Based Interventions to Increase HIV Testing and Care

Awards will be given to community-based projects that focus on reducing new HIV infections through identification of HIV infection among recently infected adolescents and adults and on increasing access to HIV care, especially among newly diagnosed adolescents and adults. Nonprofit organizations, especially community-based health organizations are welcome to apply.

Sodexo Foundation Lead Organizer Grants 

Sodexo Foundation Lead Organizer will work with 10 or more partner organizations to engage at least 600 volunteers in learning about and addressing the issue of childhood hunger in their communities. Activities will begin during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, November 10-17, 2012, and continue through Global Youth Service Day, April 26-28, 2013. New community partnerships will be built to increase public awareness about the issue of childhood hunger and the youth’s role in solving these problems.

MLK Day Lead Organizer Grants 

The goal of the program is to engage youth and adult volunteers on Martin Luther King Day of Service by encouraging families to serve together. The program will convene a coalition of at least 10 partner organizations that collectively engage at least 3,000 youth and adult volunteers in service on MLK Day, including projects that both engage and serve veterans, and military family.

Global Youth Service Day Lead Agency Grants

Global Youth Service Day Lead Agencies will convene a coalition of at least 10 partner organizations that collectively engage at least 600 youth volunteers in service, local media and elected officials, and plan a high-profile signature project or celebration of service.

Grants for Grassroots Health Education 

The 2012 program will focus supporting medical organizations with prescription medication safety projects that reach children and youth between the ages of 2 and 21. Medical organizations are encouraged to collaborate with nonprofits, schools, and government entities to apply for this grant.

Robert Wood Johnson Youth Leaders Awards

Community Transformation Grant Small Communities Funding Opportunity 

Grants will be awarded to governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations across a variety of sectors, including transportation, housing, education, and public health, in an effort to save lives and control the nation’s growing health care costs associated with preventable chronic diseases. Applicants specifically must demonstrate how they can improve the health of their communities through increasing the availability of healthy foods and beverages, improving access to safe places for physical activity, and encouraging smoke-free environments.
