PHS Fall Garden Festival Returns to the Navy Yard Next Weekend

By Shannon Collins |

PHS Garden FestivalThey must be doing something right at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. For years now, the space has set the scene for Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s free Fall Garden Festival.

This year’s edition opens on the first day of fall, Saturday September 22nd from 9am to 5pm.

In addition to music, food, plants, and shopping, there will be workshops, gardening tips, and children’s activities. PHS Members will be welcome to select free plants from the ever-popular Plant Dividend.

The festival is a great place to get first dibs on garden plants for the fall and plan your next gardening project. The marketplace features plants, produce, tools, garden accessories, home decor, fine crafts, and keepsakes from the PHS/Philadelphia International Flower Show collections.

This autumn, attendees were able to add a new tree to their property by participating in the PHS Tree Sale. Available for $50, these trees are intended for yards, with every tree planted in support of Plant One Million, a tri-state effort to restore the tree canopy.
