Young Involved Philadelphia Challenge: $1,000 Prize for Best Solution to Philly Problems
How would you make Philadelphia better?
Young Involved Philadelphia wants to know. The organization is kicking off its third annual State of Young Philly event later this month.
But this year there’s a twist.
YIP is introducing a project competition called the YIP Challenge. It seeks bright ideas in education, sustainability and economic development.
YIP has the problems; your job is to provide the solutions.
For example:
How can mobile technology be used to increase parent and citizen engagement with schools and after-school programs?
How can we increase engagement and awareness around energy efficiency in Philadelphia such that it becomes more visible to residents and businesses?
How do we best identify, support and promote local manufacturing and crafts products that are made in Philadelphia?

If you have answers, you can submit project proposals from now until October 7th. Winners each get $1,000 in seed funding. The best ideas will be announced October 13th.
