Generocity is a nonprofit organization building Greater Philadelphia's first online publication dedicated to telling the stories about individuals, schools, charities, nonprofitsNonprofit: An organization that exists for reasons other than to make a profit, such as charitable, community or service organizations, schools, cultural groups, and faith-based institutions. and businesses in the region working to make a positive difference in their communities.
More than that, we'll be offering a unique set of online tools and resources that will make it easier for nonprofits to harness the fundraising potential of the Internet, and for businesses and individuals to find and support these causes and groups.
Our Role
We know there are great nonprofits out there doing great work that could be doing even more with more resources. We also know there are many people in our region who would do more to help out...
... if they knew what was going on,
... if there were clear and easy ways to get involved, and
... if they could readily see the impact their contributions make.
Generocity is going to be the matchmaker between them. And we're going to do it by promoting:
- Cause Journalism: Timely stories-told in words and images-that motivate people to get involved in their communities.
- Citizen Philanthropy: People of all ages and income levels making the world a better place through donations, big and small.
- Ethical Consumerism: Consumers using their purchasing power to support worthy causes.
Our Mission
To celebrate those who make a difference in their community, and inspire others to do the same.
Our Goal
To create an online publication and innovative resource tool that allows individuals, nonprofits and businesses throughout Greater Philadelphia to tell their stories, interact, exchange ideas, and form partnerships that will produce positive, tangible results close to home.
Our Vision
A community inspired by its compassion and commitment towards one another. Where there are no excuses, only opportunities for engagement. Where problems are addressed, solutions are found, and giving becomes a way of life-not an afterthought.
