About the Project
Generocity.org is a nonprofit internet startup with the mission to connect people to nonprofits and causes in the Greater Philadelphia area.
We're looking for talented web developers to help us build a cloud-based dashboard product. This 6 month full-time freelance project will start depending upon the availability of the candidate.

Job Description
The Front-End Web Developer is responsible for working with our creative designer and PHP/MySQL development team on designing and developing new and impressive web/application templates for Generocity.org which will deliver an informative and exciting experience to our users.
The developer should be quick, efficient, and skilled in the latest front-end web technologies, web standards, responsive design techniques, and should be able to solve cross-browser compatibility issues.
In addition to technical skill, the developer should have an intuitive sense of how effective web design and front-end development relates to the overall organization and its ability to serve the communities of greater Philly.

The PHP Developer is responsible for working with our Web Designer and PHP/MySQL development team on designing and developing new and impressive membership and business applications for Generocity.org, its members, and its business and nonprofit constituents. The position may also be requied to perform web maintenance.
The developer should love to code, and be quick, efficient, and skilled in the latest web technologies, web standards, and application development techniques. In addition to PHP code mastery, the developer should have a strong sense of integrity and purpose, and an intuitive sense of how application logic (i.e. code) relates to the overall organization and its ability to serve the communities of greater Philly.

The MySQL Database Developer/Administrator is responsible for working with our PHP/MySQL development team on maintaining and enhancing the Generocity.org and application databases to enable site and application availability, and high quality customer support. The developer will be building new and impressive membership and business applications for Generocity.org, its members, and its business and nonprofit constituents.
The developer should be quick, efficient, and skilled in SQL and database design, development, and fine-tuning MySQL Server in an organization that thrives on membership/constituent data and metrics reporting. In addition to technical skill, the developer should have an intuitive sense of how organizational data relates to the overall organization and its ability to serve the communities of greater Philly.

Freelancers
We're seeking people who have contacts across different causes, who understand the challenges and key issues facing nonprofits today, and can cut through nonprofit jargon to write about trends and innovations in an engaging and lively way. If you've worked at nonprofits, that would be a plus.

Internships
This is a great opportunity if you are smart, creative and want a hands-on learning experience at a start-up local content website (and actually have some fun while you're at it!)
Duties will include finding and researching stories, under the supervision of the Content Director, and supporting all aspects of the editorial process, including fact-checking, image sourcing, basic video editing and liaison with contributors and story subjects.
Writing, photography and/or film-editing experience is a huge plus.
