    Our Purpose

    ActionAIDS, Inc., a Philadelphia-based organization in partnership with people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, works to sustain and enhance quality of life. We provide a range of direct services and take an active and professional approach to leadership in service, education and advocacy. ActionAIDS works to remove practical and emotional barriers to accessing primary medical care for individuals infected with HIV disease. Our staff and volunteers work with clients to identify their barriers and then work to provide resources and empower the client to overcome these barriers.

    Medical Case Management
    ActionAIDS core service and serves over 3,000 individuals and families each year out of over 40 locations. Establishing trust through one-on-one relationships, case managers and clients work together to coordinate care, navigate through complex governmental systems, and access medical, social, legal

    Volunteer Buddy Services
    One of the oldest and largest buddy programs in the United States which serves over 250 individuals and families each year. The program is a national model for volunteer programs. Trained volunteer buddies work closely with case managers to prevent isolation by providing emotional and practical supp

    Lack of housing and homelessness are the most critical threats facing people living with HIV today. ActionAIDS hired its first Housing Counseling staff in 1991 and now employs 6 counselors who serve over 600 individuals and families each year.
