Our Purpose
RSVP promotes volunteerism, particularly among persons 50 years of age and older, and provides opportunities for them to pursue their interests and use their abilities to help meet the critical needs of Montgomery County.
Our Impact
To be recognized by the Montgomery County PA community as a reliable and dynamic source of rewarding volunteer opportunities for adults to serve the community's critical needs.
Key Programs
Mentoring Program
We match adults with at-risk youth referred to us by school counselors. These youth have great potential but challenging family circumstances, 30% have a parent who is or was incarcerated. They often need a role model in their lives. The youth come for an hour a week to build rel
Medicare Counseling Program
RSVP recruits, trains, and places trained volunteers at 22 different sites to provide health insurance counseling to seniors regarding Medicare enrollment. In the past year we have provided counseling and information to 3,816 seniors throughout the county.
Family Literacy Program
Volunteer readers are placed in each of the 30 Headstart classrooms, we provide new books to each of the 540 Head start kids six times per year along with instructions to parents how to read more effectively to your child to help increase comprehension.
