Why Isn’t ‘Servant Leadership’ More Prevalent?

There are a variety of leadership styles for CEOs to choose from. The style highlighted in the Harvard Business School blog seeks a humble mentorship approach that serves others in the organization.

Servant leadership, as researched and written about by Adam Grant in his book Give and Take, describes leaders who lead by serving those in their organization. The outcome of this model is happier employees and an increase in production. The blog highlights the give and take nature of this leadership style with everyone standing to gain the most and loose very little.

“Servant leadership is an age-old concept, a term loosely used to suggest that a leader’s primary role is to serve others, especially employees.”
